Bette E. Hamilton, Owner/Broker of Olde Dartmouth Sotheby’s International Realty has been a top producing real estate professional for 12 years. Trained as a political scientist, with a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Bette lived in the Washington D.C. area for several years and was formerly a Vice-President for Legislation with a professional association representing the nation’s colleges and universities. She also was employed as a college professor for several years teaching public administration and psychology courses.

Since moving to Massachusetts she has used her strong analytical skills and experience in negotiating to work with customers and clients who seek to sell or procure distinctive properties or who need help with governmental bodies. A recipient of the Graduate Realtor’s Institute designation and the Certified Buyer’s Representative designation, she provides buyer brokerage for select clients. Before founding Olde Dartmouth Realty, Inc in August of 2001, she was associated with a real estate firm in Padanaram Village for five years. As the Designated Broker, she affiliated with the Sotheby’s International Realty network in the Fall of 2005, launching Olde Dartmouth Sotheby’s International Realty on January 8, 2006. She is intimately familiar with the South Coast area and has become an expert in the marketing of distinctive properties, especially historic homes and waterfront parcels. She is a graduate of WHALE’s first training class to certify Historic House Specialists. She lives in South Dartmouth, has owned a farm in Mattapoisett, as well as second homes in Fairhaven, South Dartmouth and Duxbury, MA.
